The Name Game
As we welcome the new year… Wait, it’s already February. Let’s start this again.
As we celebrate Groundhog Day, we thought it fitting to announce our new business name—Blinebury Design. OK, so it’s not a huge departure from our previous business name—Beth Blinebury Design—but it’s a significant change for us.
In November 2011, Andy and I decided to try this small business thing out full-time. It was a scary endeavor and we weren’t sure how it would all work. At that time we didn’t really consider how our business name might impact us moving forward.
I am so proud of the work that our studio has produced over the past three years. Every project has been a new challenge. We have had the opportunity to work with some of the best clients in the Philadelphia area, throughout the country and even THE WORLD (shout out to our client across the pond—Kris Heimark of Stoke Newington Chambers)!
As we transition into the next phase of our business, we decided to move forward with a new name. We agonized (OK, just for a few minutes) over the idea of coming up with some new name for the business but quickly abandoned that thought. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it; just remove a letter! So no more Bel Biv Devoe references for us (other than in typical daily conversation, which happens more often than you’d think), but our company will remain branded with our personal identity.
So why change our name now?
We want to convey to the world that our freelancer roots are far behind us. As a small studio, we are committed to providing personal, full-service solutions to individuals, small businesses and organizations. And moving forward as Blinebury Design, we will do just that.
